About 18 E Monument Street
Victorian charm on the outside, with modern building construction techniques on the inside. Located on a quiet side street between Downtown and Colorado College, this 3-story, 2500 sq. ft office building offers the elegance your business deserves. Award-winning architect Mark Tremmel and his design team joined with Kiva Construction to create a space that is flexible and functional, as well as beautiful.
Special efforts were made to preserve the 19th century feel by keeping original architectural features and incorporating them into what is essentially a new building. Contemporary design elments using new "old style" materials lend to the style; as an example, the conference room has the modern look of an interior glass wall, but it's crafted from brand-new, fully glazed 5-panel fir doors that provide abundant light to the interior. A unique custom 3-story staircase has a wrought iron baluster, but it has contemporary white maple treads and becomes a floating stairway with open risers. Likewise, the building has the common Victorian-style octagonal white mosaic tile floors in the reception area, restrooms, and break room, but with a bold, oversized black mosaic Greek Key border for a modern twist. The balance of the flooring is hardwood.
The 3rd-floor office was added during renovation. It's an inspiring 410 sq ft with a vaulted ceiling and world-class views out of huge windows; to the east, contemplate the spires of Palmer's church, to the west, an unobstructed panorama centered on Pikes Peak! There are 4 private offices, 2 open areas for staffing, a conference room, a receptionist/waiting/lobby area, a well appointed break room/kitchenette, 2 restrooms (1st floor ADA), and a 290 sq ft basement for HVAC and lots of dry storagei
The old Vic was gutted to the studs. Now it has modern: wiring, plumbing, 2- Hi eff, AC + FAG heat systems, insulation, double-pane windows, phone syst., security, ADA ramp, alley access.
