Northwest Corridor

Beginning in the late 1950's and early 1960's, central Colorado Springs began to overflow in all directions.  Development in the Northwest Corridor stretches from I-25 all the way to the base of mountains to the west. The Northwest has several great city parks and boasts some of the highest-rated schools in Colorado Springs.  With lots of ranchers and multi-level homes, the Northwest has attracted many young families in recent years. The crowning jewel of the Northwest Corridor is the United Stated Air Force Academy, in the furthest north west corner of the city of Colorado Springs.

The Mountain Shadows neighborhood lies just north of the Garden of the Gods.  With easy access to the mountains as well as the popular Mountain Shadows Park and Mountain Shadows Open Space, this neighborhood offers many options for those looking for a true outdoor lifestyle.  Mountain Shadows is made up of several planned communities, include Parkside, Vintage Heights, and Tuscany Villas.

Northwest of downtown and adjacent to I-25, Rockrimmon is a cluster of neighborhoods between Rockrimmon Boulevard and Woodmen Road.  Rockrimmon is punctuated by white limestone bluffs and cliffs and is anchored by Ute Valley Park and Rockrimmon Open Space, with miles of hiking and biking trails. From the top of the bluffs, one can catch dramatic views of Pikes Peak and downtown. Homes in this neighborhood are typically ranchers and multi-levels, built starting in the 1950's, although it is possible to find new builds and custom homes.

Oak Valley is north of Mountain Shadows and west of Rockrimmon and north of Mountain Shadows, right up against the Rampart Range.

Peregrine is a master planned and covenant community, nestled among trees and hills in the Northwest corner of Colorado Springs. Though secluded by the natural bluffs surrounding the development, there are more than 1,000 executive-built homes.  Peregrine is a great option for those looking to be further out of the city but closer to the mountains.  Within one of Colorado Springs highest-rated school districts, Peregrine is a popular choice for buyers in Colorado Springs.

Bordered by the Air Force Academy to the north, the Woodmen Valley's rolling hills and forested roads give it a feeling of being in the countryside, yet you are just 25 minutes from downtown.  If you are looking for acreage for animals, then the Woodmen Valley may just be your spot.
